The York Valley Landfill Erosion and Sediment Control Sediment Plan – Southern Skies Environmental 2020 sets out the following monitoring and maintenance requirements: [ESCP (2024) Chapter 7]
All erosion and sediment control measures and methodologies must be monitored for the duration of works on sites (at least once per week).
Monitoring must be undertaken before and immediately after rain events as well as during heavy rainfall events (15mm/hr or 25mm/day).
All erosion and sediment control measures or methodologies must be maintained and/or undertaken in accordance with GD05 (Erosion and Sediment Control Guide for Land Disturbing Activities in the Auckland Region GD 2016/005).
Any necessary maintenance and repairs must be undertaken immediately.
SRPs and forebays must be cleaned out before accumulated sediment volume reaches 20% of the total volume.
Sensors must be monitored daily during rainfall events and cleaned as required, and otherwise be cleaned at minimum weekly. A handheld sensor will be used to cross check the insitu sensors as part of weekly checks and daily checks during weather events.
The Land Disturbance Consent RM975261 sets out an additional requirement:
The outlet of the SRPs must be monitored to ensure any discharge of stormwater does not cause noticeable scouring. [RM975261 Sch 1(22)]
