Procedure

    • The York Valley Landfill Erosion and Sediment Control Sediment Plan – Southern Skies Environmental 2020 sets out the following monitoring and maintenance requirements: [ESCP (2024) Chapter 7]

      • All erosion and sediment control measures and methodologies must be monitored for the duration of works on sites (at least once per week).

      • Monitoring must be undertaken before and immediately after rain events as well as during heavy rainfall events (15mm/hr or 25mm/day).

      • All erosion and sediment control measures or methodologies must be maintained and/or undertaken in accordance with GD05 (Erosion and Sediment Control Guide for Land Disturbing Activities in the Auckland Region GD 2016/005).

      • Any necessary maintenance and repairs must be undertaken immediately.

      • SRPs and forebays must be cleaned out before accumulated sediment volume reaches 20% of the total volume.

      • Sensors must be monitored daily during rainfall events and cleaned as required, and otherwise be cleaned at minimum weekly. A handheld sensor will be used to cross check the insitu sensors as part of weekly checks and daily checks during weather events.

    • The Land Disturbance Consent RM975261 sets out an additional requirement:

      • The outlet of the SRPs must be monitored to ensure any discharge of stormwater does not cause noticeable scouring. [RM975261 Sch 1(22)]

Reference

  • The discharge of water from the SRPs shall not result in any noticeable scouring at the outlet from the SRPs.
